Dwight W. Allen has 38 years of experience in the practice of law. He also serves as Executive Vice President of the North Carolina Telephone Cooperative Coalition, Inc. He began his practice in the general practice of law and has practiced in government, private practice and in-house corporate practice. He previously served as Secretary, Vice President, General Counsel and President of a large telecom company. He is also an adjunct professor at the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University where he teaches Regulatory Law and Policy.

In addition to his professional duties, Dwight has served in a number of volunteer capacities on committees and as a member or chair of non-profit and professional boards, including the local chapter of the American Red Cross, the Governor’s Commission on Crime and Punishment, the Eastern North Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Justice Academy Foundation, the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Global Transpark Foundation, the North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry, the North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association, the North Carolina Telecommunications Industry Association, the Joint Legislative Committee on Information Technology of the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community Colleges Foundation, and the North Carolina Child Advocacy Institute.

Dwight was recognized by the North Carolina Telecommunications Industry Association for his outstanding contributions to the industry in North Carolina and, in 2000, received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, North Carolina’s highest civilian award.

Dwight is a Bachelor of Arts graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and he received his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He is a member of the N.C. State Bar, the N.C. Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
