The Law Offices of Allen M. Bailey represents men and women in cases involving divorce and child custody issues and petitioners in domestic violence protective order actions. We have worked with victims of domestic violence assaults in criminal, protective order and other family law matters for more than 40 years, including over 10 years as a prosecutor and 30 years in family law. In family law cases of all types, Mr. Bailey and his long-time paralegal assistant, Lisa L. McAlees, have dealt with client’s needs in a trauma-sensitive manner and helped them get through difficult (and sometimes dangerous) times in their lives. Mr. Bailey has been active in seeking improvements to the Alaska and national legal systems as they relate to family law and particularly as they relate to how family violence affects children in the home. He has authored journal articles on these topics and co-authored Alaska child custody legislation. Mr. Bailey is a member of the governing Council of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and is liaison to the ABA Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence. He is also former chair of the section’s Domestic Violence and Child Custody Committees. He has received the Alaska Attorney General’s Pro Bono Award, the Anchorage Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Award and received a 20-20 Vision Award in 2015 from the ABA Commission on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault on that body’s 20th anniversary.
