Heather C. Baker is a native of Jackson County, North Carolina and a graduate of Cullowhee High School (1986). She is a graduate of Oxford College of Emory University (A.A., 1988) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A., 1990; J.D., 1993).

Ms. Baker concentrates her practice in the area of Wills and Estates, Collections, Real Property, and in Business Law, including corporations and limited liability companies. She is a Member of the North Carolina and 30th Judicial District State Bars. Heather is a former Assistant District Attorney for the 30th Prosecutorial District. She is a former President of the 30th Judicial District Bar. Heather currently serves as a member of the North Carolina State Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education. In 2014, she was honored by her peers as an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated Lawyer through Martindale-Hubbell.

Heather is active in the community and currently volunteers by serving as the Chair of the MedWest Harris, MedWest Swain Foundation and serving on the WestCare Board of Trustees, KIDS Place, a child advocacy center, the Board of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Board of the Community Table. She previously served as legal counsel to the Northern Jackson County Board of Realtors.

Heather is married to Scott Baker and has two sons, Alex and Aaron. In her spare time, she enjoys UNC basketball, NFL football, walking and exercising, reading and watching movies.
