Mr. Barlev received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angles in 1998 and his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University, School of Law in 2004. During law school, Mr. Barlev served two years as Associate Editor for Golden Gate University School of Law’s Law Journal and was recognized for academic excellence during his law school years, making the Dean’s list twice and receiving both a Witkin and a CALI award (highest honors) for courses taken.

While attending law school, Mr. Barlev served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Maria-Elena James, United States Federal Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California and held an internship with the Construction Division of the San Francisco City Attorney’s office.

Mr. Barlev was admitted to the bar in 2005 and is admitted to practice in all of the California courts and the United States District Court, Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California. In 2010, Mr. Barlev received his LLM in Taxation from Golden Gate University, School of Law.

Prior to joining David M. Sternberg and Associates, Mr. Barlev worked as associate for an insurance defense firm defending professionals and businesses in the real estate and mortgage brokering industries in all phases of litigation including trial and appeal.

Before that, Mr. Barlev worked as an associate where his focus was on representing secured creditor clients in consumer and commercial bankruptcy litigation and transactional matters as well as personal property transaction and litigation matters.

Mr. Barlev has worked on various civil litigation matters, representing both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide variety of consumer and commercial disputes, both in and out of court and has assisted clients with resolution of their unique legal issues in a cost-efficient and effective manner. Mr. Barlev is a people-person and finds satisfaction helping to solve problems.
