Successfully defended the Estate of a paraplegic man — who burned to death in his bed — at trial against the claim of the sole purported beneficiary for millions of dollars under man’s Last Will and Testament. Simultaneously pursued the purported beneficiary and others in a federal racketeering lawsuit, alleging that they conspired to drug and then burn the deceased man to death for his money, and to prevent discovery of evidence related to their prior frauds against him. The Estate paid no money to the alleged beneficiary at the conclusion of the case.
Deposed now-President Donald J. Trump in defense of a claim for monetary damages brought by the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, against a utility company client, which matter was successfully settled without payment of any money by the utility company client. Recovered $1,250,000.00 on behalf of several cooperative building shareholders from the building sponsor, by pursuing their rights as oppressed minority shareholders of the cooperative corporation.
Obtained dismissal of an approximately $1,000,000.00 claim brought against a clothing wholesaler by a foreign vendor on grounds that the claim should have been filed in India — where the vendor never would file a claim, because it would have exposed the vendor to criminal charges in that country.
Received a jury verdict denying the claims brought against the utility company client by the driver of a vehicle who was seeking millions of dollars for severe injuries he suffered after hitting a utility pole with his vehicle, which pole he claimed was placed in an unreasonably dangerous roadside location.
Successfully defended against prosecutors’ overzealous efforts to have a client imprisoned a second time, after she already had served her prison sentence, by demonstrating in a hearing that the client’s non-payment of $1,650,000.00 of restitution was based on her total inability to pay, as opposed to a willful desire to avoid making such payments, as was being argued by the prosecution.
Recovered a $640,000.00 settlement after three weeks of a jury trial on behalf of a condominium association claiming faulty construction by the condominium developer, after receiving a pre-trial settlement offer of only $25,000.00.
Recovered a year’s salary and benefits for a public company’s former president after filing an arbitration claim against the former employer, which far eclipsed the severance offer originally made to the former president.
Recovered a large settlement as lead counsel in another jurisdiction on behalf of a class of unit owners, who sued a major law firm that had failed to account to them for a litigation recovery of several million dollars.
Recovered a large settlement on behalf of a Colorado business owner whose corporation was bought out by a New York entity, which then wrongfully terminated his employment and violated the business purchase and sale agreement
