Mr. Bleiler is the founder of The Bleiler Law Firm, APC and handles personal injury cases, employment litigation, and employment related civil rights litigation in both state and federal courts. Mr. Bleiler has over 40 years of litigation and trial experience, including dozens of jury trials, and has had several high profile, nationally and locally publicized cases, including on the front page of the New York Times. His personal injury cases involve major personal injuries and include auto accidents, premises liability, pedestrian injuries, and wrongful, death. In one of his personal injury cases concerning premises liability, he obtained a recovery of $12.75 million. His employment cases include sexual harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing and wrongful termination, and he obtained one of the first seven figure sexual harassment recoveries in San Diego. In addition to representing average workers, Mr. Bleiler also represents high level executives for claims involving breach of contract, fraud, whistleblowing, discrimination, and wrongful termination, including cases in the seven and eight figure range with stock grants and stock options, and regarding companies from startups to publicly held corporations.

Mr. Bleiler is listed as a Southern California Super Lawyer, and in 2017 was selected by the San Diego Business Journal, Attorney Issue, for “Best of the Bar in San Diego”. He is also a long standing member of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and the California Employment Lawyers Association, and hosts regular meetings with local attorneys from various specialties. He is qualified to practice in all federal and state courts in California, including admission to the Federal Southern District Court, the Federal Central District Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also had two published cases, one of which was largely responsible for changing the law in the state of California and improving the rights of hospitalized, mentally ill patients.

Mr. Bleiler received his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Tufts University University, participating on their rugby team and sailing team. He was also the Treasurer of his fraternity and participated on their football and wrestling teams. After graduation from Tufts Mr. Bleiler attended the Navy’s Aviation Officer Candidate School, and he first started thinking of becoming a lawyer when he was selected as judge in the mock court martial for his military justice class. Mr. Bleiler became a Naval Officer, and ultimately attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After returning from active duty with the Navy, Mr. Bleiler attended the University of San Diego Law School, and continued with the Naval Reserve. He opened his own law practice in 1975.

Mr. Bleiler’s community service, in addition to coaching youth soccer and baseball for almost ten years, included serving as president of his local community center and chairman of the building committee for 10 years, resulting in the completion of a new community center building next to the school. He was also president of his local high school foundation where he was recognized for his fundraising and as leader of the board of directors which hired its first executive director. Mr. Bleiler was also a founding member of his local church, a leader of its Men’s Group, and founded and has led a program for incarcerated youth for over eight years for which he has received two Matthew 25 awards.

Over the years in his spare time, Mr. Bleiler has enjoyed the hobbies of ocean sailboat racing, coaching, skiing and horseback riding. He now mostly enjoys his time with his wife of over 40 years and their son, who is also a lawyer. He enjoys sailing and involvement with his church activities, including his outreach program for incarcerated youth, whereby he and his team, of up to 8 men, have, over the past eight years, visited and counseled over 12,000 juvenile detainees.
