Prior to joining the Law Office of Williams & Associates, PC, Jim worked for the EDD where he appeared regularly at hearings before the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB). He also negotiated settlements on many cases and advised the EDD on legislation and regulations affecting both the EDD and California employers. Jim’s experience with the EDD allows him to fully understand the concerns California employers face during tax audits and petitions.
Additionally, Jim previously worked in the State Senate where he analyzed and drafted legislation for the Governor’s Office.
Jim earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from California State University, Sacramento where he graduated summa cum laude. Before practicing law, Jim was a professional musician. His hobbies include coaching little league baseball and playing senior league baseball.
