Prior to forming The Buckley Law Firm, Brian J. Buckley devoted his practice to defending the indigent, criminally accused as a public defender in San Luis Obispo County. He has earned a reputation for treating his clients with a remarkable degree of patience, integrity, and respect for their individual needs. Brian is a skilled trial lawyer with a reputation for candor and diligence in the courtroom.

Brian was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County with his three younger siblings. He played competitive basketball for much of his youth. He graduated as valedictorian from Mission College Preparatory in 1997.

Brian’s track record of academic excellence continued at Santa Clara University where he successfully completed the Honors Program, earned a bachelor of science in finance, and graduated at the top of his class in 2001.

In 2004, Brian graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law with a juris doctorate degree, thus concluding seven years on the campus. He has been a member of the California State Bar since 2005.

Brian met his wife, Heather Sutton Buckley, in law school. They have two children, a son and daughter. Both joined the family through international adoption from Ethiopia.

When he has time for himself, Brian enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels, playing various computer strategy games, star-gazing with his telescope, building computers from scratch, and jamming to the beat of his favorite rock bands.
