Lisa M. Card is an associate attorney with a practice area concentrated in representing banks and businesses with corporate transactions and commercial lending. She routinely assists her clients with mergers & acquisitions, commercial real estate purchases, commercial lending, business formation, and other commercial matters.

With the unique credential of having obtained both her undergraduate and law degrees cum laude from Harvard, Lisa offers her client base a unique set of skills for and perspective on their deals. As she explains, "The experiences I had as both an undergraduate and law student at Harvard informed everything about the way I practice today and what my clients can expect. Having to meet the highest of standards there prepared me for what my corporate clients expect now- what they must bring back to their shareholders, peers and bosses – work and deals that meet exacting standards, where the smallest of details are considered, where what will happen a year from now is dealt with today, where you have an answer before the question is asked."

Born and raised in Port Jervis, she developed her interest in the law at Port Jervis High School, where she participated in the mock trial team. After graduation, she became an associate at the prestigious New York City law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf, honing her skills at handling litigation for a corporate client base, before moving back to the area and putting her experience to work for clients here. Lisa offers, "My background in litigation has been an unexpected edge for my clients here not only because of the negotiation skills I acquired, but also the knowledge I have concerning how lawsuits occur – it allows me to share with them a unique perspective on how their actions and decisions might have unintended results."

Lisa previously served as a law clerk for The Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn, United States District Court for the Northern District of New York, an extern for the criminal practice section of the Legal Aid Society, and a legal intern in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York.
