Matthew C. Clark is a senior partner with Chain | Cohn | Stiles and a rising star in the legal community in Bakersfield, Kern County and San Joaquin Valley.

Matt is graduate of the ABOTA National Trial College at Harvard Law School. He has been named a Rising Star in Southern California by Super Lawyers Magazines, an honor bestowed upon only 2.5 percent of lawyers under the age of 40. He has also been been named one of "20 Under 40 People to Watch" by Bakersfield Life Magazine.

He has obtained numerous six- and seven-figure results on behlaf of his injured clients, including two $10 million settlements for a man who suffered serious burn injuries on an oilfield accident, and for a man who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident.

Matthew grew up in Bakersfield, graduating from Garces Memorial High School. He then went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University, before attending law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While in law school, Matthew was an active member of the school’s Mock Trial Competition Team. He joined Chain | Cohn | Stiles in 2006, after serving as a litigation associate at another local law firm for five years.

Matt was past president of the Board of Directors for Clinica Sierra Vista, and served on the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin Community Hospital Foundation (now Adventist Health). He sits on the planning committee for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Kern County’s annual event, Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash, and is a board member for the MADD Kern County Advisory Board.
