Tim received his undergraduate degree in political science as well as his law degree from the University of South Dakota. While in Law School, Tim was on the National Moot Court Team and the Order of Barristers. Tim joined the Klass Law Firm as a Summer Law School intern in 1988. Over 25 years later, he is a co-managing partner. He is admitted to and actively handles lawsuits and trials in federal, state and workers’ compensation courts in Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska. He is a member of the Iowa State, South Dakota State and Nebraska State Bar Associations. He has served multiple terms on the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Section Council. He is currently on the Board of Governors of the Iowa Workers Compensation Advisory Council. His practice areas include civil litigation, workers’ compensation, employment law and alternative dispute resolution.

Outside the practice of law, Tim is a past member of the Board of Directors and Executive Board and current member of the Fundraising Committee for Camp High Hopes — a year round camp for individuals with special needs. He is a past member and Past President of the Iowa Lottery Authority having been appointed by the State’s Governor in 2002. He is a former member of the University of South Dakota Board of Trustees. He serves on a number of Church committees and is active with numerous charitable organizations.

Tim was born and raised here in Sioux City, Iowa. He and his wife, Paula, have two children. His son is a student at Drake Law School and his daughter is attending the University of South Dakota. Tim and his wife like getting away for college visits as often as possible.
