Steve only half-jokes that he wound up going to law school at age 58 as a result of drinking with the wrong people. After a 35-year career as a best-selling author, publisher – at Time and Scholastic – and as CEO of three internet start-ups, Steve went to law school. He graduated cum laude, and then joined legendary trial attorney Tom Moore’s firm, where he honed his trial skills. More recently, a judge on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals surprised him by recommending lawyers watch reruns of Law & Order, “Anything with Jerry Orbach is good law.” He does.

Steve’s unique skill as an attorney is that he knows how – and how important it is – to tell a clear, compelling story. He was only the second person to have Op-Ed articles published in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal on the same day. His experience in the “real world” – working for blue-chip companies, for a successful presidential candidate, and as a mixed-success entrepreneur – enable Steve to look at a client’s problem from varied perspectives.

Steve attended the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, received his AB from Brown University (paid for by the Navy), and his law degree from New York Law School.
