Sara has spent her entire legal career advocating for abused, neglected and injured children. She serves as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in reviewing settlements where the beneficiary is a minor or an incapacitated adult. Her appointment is typically after settlement has been reached, however, she also serves as GaL in ongoing litigation. Upon appointment, she meets with the client and family, reviews medical records and pleadings, ensures appropriate services are in place and files a thorough report with recommendations to the Court. She has also assisted the parties and their counsel with sample minor settlement pleadings, referral to relevant caselaw and assistance in obtaining annuity proposals, trust recommendations and other resources for safeguarding the child’s or incapacitated adult’s funds. She has served as GaL in over thirty such cases.

She has also served as a personal representative in wrongful death lawsuits, and as a GaL on behalf of incapacitated adults.
