Jonathan practices in the areas of wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning tools to help people care for themselves and loved ones. A natural complement to such planning is representing individuals in conservatorship and guardianship proceedings. He especially enjoys working in the interest of persons with mental illness, their families, and other vulnerable or exploited persons. He takes court-appointed civil matters in mental health, select civil litigation matters, and appeals from probate matters.

Jonathan also understands that one of the most difficult challenges facing Colorado residents today is housing. When paired with disability, mental illness, or even a simple desire to age in place, housing can provide issues people are unprepared to address. Whether representing a co-housing developer to create a co-housing community or a tenant to keep her lease active, Jonathan combines a collaborative approach with his understanding of the many ways the law can support or erode a person’s need for housing.

When Jonathan is not practicing law, he is volunteering at his downtown church, gardening, or playing in the great outdoors with his wife and two children – especially free-heel skiing.
