Russell "Rusty" W. DeMent III is a second generation criminal defense lawyer with 20 years of experience as a trial lawyer. He has tried over 100 jury trials and thousands of DWI’s in Wake County. Following in the footsteps of his father, Russell W. DeMent Jr., Rusty started his career in the Wake County District Attorney’s office where he prosecuted crimes from attempted murder down to the most minor of traffic violation. After 30 months of prosecuting he left the DA’s office to join his father’s firm of DeMent Askew where he has remained to this day. Rusty is now the managing partner of DeMent Askew, LLP with a strong criminal defense practice representing people from all walks of life through the difficulties of being accused of criminal conduct. While Rusty represents people accused of crimes ranging from homicide down to the most minor of traffic violations, Rusty has acceived particular success in the area of DWI/DUI defense. |
