A partner at Mills, Mills, Fiely & Lucas, Vicki L. DeSantis provides representation to clients throughout Northeast Ohio from the firm’s office in Canton. She focuses her practice on personal injury and wrongful death litigation at both the trial and appellate level, with a particular emphasis on assisting people who have been harmed by the negligence of health care practitioners or facilities. Ms. DeSantis also has experience with professional malpractice and legal malpractice. Her attention to detail and service to her clients makes her a perfect fit for our team. For our colleagues, we will continue to work in co-counsel arrangements with lawyers seeking assistance in medical malpractice and/or other litigation matters for their clients.

Ms. DeSantis began her higher education by attending the Aultman College of Nursing & Health Sciences and receiving her diploma cum laude in 1978. She then attended Kent State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing cum laude in 1984. Ms. DeSantis spent several years as a nurse, and she retains an active nursing license that helps her stay abreast of current health care issues. She subsequently decided to pursue a legal education and enrolled at the University of Akron School of Law, from where she was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2002. After graduation, Ms. DeSantis was an attorney with two area personal injury firms where she gained extensive experience in medical malpractice litigation before joining her current firm. She is admitted to practice before all Ohio state courts.

In order to stay informed on current developments in her practice area, Ms. DeSantis is an active participant in a variety of professional organizations. She is a member of both the Health Law Section and the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association, as well as, a member of the Medical Negligence list serve and Birth Injury list serve. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, and the Ohio State, Stark County and Akron bar associations. Currently, Ms. DeSantis is the President of the Summit County Association for Justice and a board member of the Stark County Association for Justice.Ms. Desantis has been named a Super Lawyer for the years 2017 and 2018.
