Stephanie E. Farrell, Of Counsel to the firm, is based in Atlantic City. She works with the Employment Law and Hospitality & Casino Defense Practice Groups.

Practice Highlights

Stephanie handles employment law and litigation matters of every type, including claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation at the agency, state and federal levels arising under a wide variety of employment statutes. These include, but are not limited to, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act.

Employers in all types of businesses depend on Stephanie to guide them through the legal aspects of the processes of hiring, disciplining, investigating, labor force reductions, and terminations. She drafts and negotiates executive employment contracts, sales and commission agreements, severance agreements, and non-compete agreements. She also helps them with the process of developing, modifying, and implementing employment policies and handbooks.

Additionally, Stephanie acts on behalf of employers in connection with Department of Labor Wage and Hour audits and advises her clients regarding proper classification and payment of employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act as well as the appropriate designation of workers as employees or independent contractors.

Education

A graduate of Rutgers University (B.A., Political Science 1994) and Rutgers University School of Law, Camden (J.D. 1997), Stephanie was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1998, and in Florida in 2005. Stephanie clerked for the Honorable Vincent D. Segal, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Equity Division.

Stephanie is a member of the New Jersey and Florida Bars and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Eleventh Circuit.
