Kate is a cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law where she served as Head Case Note & Comment Editor of the Maine Law Review. While in law school, she worked as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic and provided legal representation and assistance to low-income clients in a wide range of cases including civil litigation, civil rights, and family law in federal, state, and probate courts. Kate also served as a Bernstein District Court Fellow for the Honorable John B. Beliveau. Since graduating from law school, Kate has primarily focused her practice on workers’ compensation law, social security disability, insurance denial and personal injury claims representing injured workers throughout Maine. Before law school, Kate earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College where she graduated with honors. As a senior at Bates, she completed a 2400-mile self-supported cycling trip from Fort Myers, Florida to Lewiston, Maine to raise money for the Lewiston Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Kate lives in South Portland and enjoys spending time in the Maine outdoors. |
