Adam M. Gottsegen concentrates his practice in civil litigation handling collections, contract/business disputes, commercial landlord/tenant issues, bankruptcy, and creditors’ rights. Mr. Gottsegen represents a variety of businesses in the lending and financing industry who seek to protect their contractual rights and security interests in both real and personal property. His clients include banks, credit unions, homeowners association management companies, and consumer and commercial lenders. Mr. Gottsegen regularly represents creditors in collection proceedings, claim and delivery actions, foreclosures, and bankruptcy proceedings. He has extensive experience appearing before the Bankruptcy Courts for all federal districts in North Carolina and broad litigation experience at the state and federal court level. Mr. Gottsegen has served on the Section Council for the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and currently serves as the Treasurer for the Wake County Bar Association.

He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. In 2002, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Mr. Gottsegen served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable J. Rich Leonard, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

In 2011, Mr. Gottsegen was selected as an Emerging Legal Leader through North Carolina Lawyer’s Weekly, recognizing young members of the legal community who are working to better the legal profession through professional and community involvement as well as excelling in their legal careers. Mr. Gottsegen was also listed as a Rising Star in North Carolina Super Lawyers® that recognizes attorneys who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less, and has been recognized by Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite for the years 2015-2018.
