Kim earned her law degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia School of Law in May 2015. She was a litigation law clerk in Shelter Insurance’s claims litigation department before joining Newman, Comley and Ruth as a law clerk in May 2014, and then as an Associate in September 2015.

During law school, Kim completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Zel M. Fischer of the Missouri Supreme Court. She held leadership positions in organizations including the Student Bar Association and the Women’s Law Association. She was the Managing Editor of the Missouri Law Review and had two case notes published in the Law Review. One of her publications won the award for Best Case Note in Spring 2015.

Kim achieved the highest grade in six courses throughout law school, and she made the Dean’s List every semester. Upon graduation from law school, Kim earned membership in the Order of the Coif by being in the top 10% of her class. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Kim assists clients on a wide variety of matters in varying practice areas including family law, estate planning, general civil litigation, medical malpractice defense and appeals.

Kim and her husband, Jason Guthrie, live in Jefferson City and enjoy playing golf and cheering on the Missouri Tigers.
