As an attorney with Rice Elder Law, Sarah Haley provides tax, corporate transactional and asset protection planning services. Ms. Haley provides tax, corporate transactional and asset protection planning services, as well as wealth transfer and estate planning services to meet the complex planning needs of the Firm’s clients. Ms. Haley’s tax, estate planning and transactional expertise and background allow her to provide high net worth clients with expert advice and sophisticated planning strategies on every aspect of their planning needs. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Haley served a two year appointment as attorney advisor to the Chief Special Trial Judge of the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C. In Ms. Haley’s extensive career as a tax and estate attorney, Ms. Haley has concentrated her areas of expertise in complex tax planning, include estate planning, asset protection strategies, international taxation, business succession planning, charitable exempt entities, and corporate tax/transaction matters. Ms. Haley received her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation from Boston University School of Law in 1998, with honors; her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 1997; and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University in 1994.Ms. Haley is admitted to the New York (2011), New Jersey (1997) and Pennsylvania (2005) State Bars. Ms. Haley is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, as well as admitted to practice before The United States Supreme Court.Memberships: Ms. Haley is actively involved in the ABA Tax Section. ABA Business Law Section; ABA Section of International Law; and ABA Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law.Prior to starting her own firm, Ms Haley was a senior tax attorney for TIAA-CREF for 6 ½ years, during which she advised numerous clients across the county regarding their planning needs.Prior to working for TIAA-CREF, Ms. Haley was an estate and tax attorney at a large Southern New Jersey firm for several years. Ms. Haley’s main concentration of her practice was in estate planning, estate administration, corporate planning and transactional work.
