Michael A. Halusek received his Juris Doctorate Degree from DePaul University. At DePaul, he earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Comparative Family Law as well as graduated with a Certificate in Child and Family Law, which denotes both distinguished performance and concentration in family law. Before law school, Mr. Halusek studied at Lake Forest College obtaining degrees in economics and politics, as well as playing collegiate basketball.

Mr. Halusek practices exclusively in family law with significant success representing clients in contested and complex litigation across Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, Kane, and McHenry counties in Illinois. Mr. Halusek provides counsel to clients in a wide range of matters, including the negotiation and litigation of complex financial disputes, business interests, property valuation and division, maintenance (spousal support), child support, custody and parenting plans, and enforcing the rights of parents. Additionally, Mr. Halusek ensures the protection of clients through the preparation of prenuptial agreements safeguarding clients’ financial interests and through civil litigation related to orders of protection, domestic violence, and the safety of his clients and their children. In approaching his cases, Mr. Halusek is a planner and problem-solver and approaches his cases from multiple angles and lenses which allow him to tailor an individualized strategy for each client. This approach has best served to protect his clients’ rights and interests in court and in the litigation of the most complex and contentious family disputes. If litigation is not in his client’s best interests, his approach and understanding of his clients’ goals and concerns allow him to effectively resolve disputes outside of court while maintaining and maximizing his clients’ control over the outcome and the process.
