Chris Henjum is an attorney at Kennedy & Graven, Chartered, practicing in the area of public finance. Chris joined Kennedy & Graven in 2018.

Chris graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received B.A. degrees in political science and journalism, with honors. He then received his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, where he completed a concentration in municipal law and policy. During that time, Chris served as a student attorney for three years at the League of Minnesota Cities and after graduating, worked with local officials to help establish the FDA Center for Tobacco Products State Programs Group in Washington D.C.

After moving back to Minnesota, Chris continued assisting local communities in his work at Flaherty & Hood, P.A. There, he helped establish the first economic development organization focused exclusively on Greater Minnesota, the Greater Minnesota Partnership. For the GMNP, he drafted several economic development proposals, including the state Border-to-Border Broadband Infrastructure grant program. Also while at Flaherty & Hood, Chris worked on behalf of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, where he helped reform Local Government Aid in 2013 and counseled communities on property tax and finance concerns.

Chris lives in South Minneapolis with his wife and young daughter. He enjoys biking, checking out new restaurants, serving as the President of the American Constitution Society Twin Cities Chapter, and staying active in local politics.
