Robert Hill graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lander College in 1983 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1986.

In law school, Robert helped Professor David G. Owen prepare a new edition to the Professor’s product liability casebook and update the products liability chapter in Prosser and Keeton On Torts.

Robert also clerked for Speights & Runyan, a firm that then enjoyed a nationwide product liability practice. This firm focused primarily on helping property owners whose buildings were damaged by asbestos. Once he was licensed, Robert became the firm’s Appellate Attorney and worked there until 2002.

At Speights & Runyan, Robert handled appeals involving all sorts of product liability issues, the Eleventh Amendment, federal diversity jurisdiction in class actions, and attorney fees in bankruptcy cases.

In 2002, Robert left that firm to be closer to his parents and his in-laws. His solo practice continues to help attorneys with their appeals and their other legal research and writing needs.

He and his wife Martha live minutes away from Columbia, South Carolina.
