Ms. Hogan joined Pearson & Paris P.C. on September 6, 2016. She is an experienced trial attorney who specializes in criminal law, complex civil litigation, appellate advocacy, and intellectual property. As a prosecutor with the Weld County District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Hogan maintained a winning record in over 45 jury trials, handled several criminal appeals and prevailed in every case, including the interlocutory appeal of a suppression order. She also has extensive experience with DUI and traffic cases as well as charges involving allegations of Domestic Violence.

Prior to practicing criminal law, Ms. Hogan specialized in employment litigation and trademark prosecution. She represented clients in employment and complex civil litigation matters in private mediations, EEO and EEOC proceedings, as well as state and federal court addressing discrimination and harassment claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, wrongful discharge in violation of public policy, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and similar business torts and intellectual property disputes.

She began her legal career as an associate in the Trademark, Copyright and Brand Management Group of the international law firm of Dorsey and Whitney, where her practice involved a wide range of trademark and copyright-related matters, including trademark clearance searching, opinion letters, international and domestic trademark prosecution, protection of trade dress, trademark and copyright counseling and enforcement, licensing, unfair competition, rights of privacy and publicity, trade secrets and a variety of Internet issues, including domain name and key word acquisitions and disputes. As only a second year associate, she was featured as a trademark expert in the Denver Business Journal, and has had several articles published in law review journals and other periodicals.

Ms. Hogan received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2007, where she graduated Order of St. Ives, and in the top 2% of her class. She served on the Executive Board of the Denver University Law Review, was a team member of the Denver University ABA Appellate Team, and was nominated for several objective and persuasive writing awards.

As a Colorado native, Ms. Hogan has deep roots in the community and a resolute ambition to contribute to the public welfare and administration of justice in her State. She is adept at navigating complex legal issues, reading diverse audiences, and interpreting non-verbal cues in order to deliver cogent advice and convincing oral presentations. She prides herself on her superior persuasive writing, legal analysis, strategic problem solving, and oral advocacy skills.
