| Description | 27 years of my professional life were spent in the private practice of law. My part of the practice consisted of elder law – wills, trusts, probate, medicaid asset protection planning – real property, formation and counsel for corporations and limited liability companies, banking, and legal counsel for special districts. In addition to private practice, I served as Gallatin County Clerk, worked in-house for a small bank as senior lender and president leaving to join the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions as Deputy Commissioner, and was General Counsel for Citizens Union Bank in Shelbyville, Kentucky for 6 1/2 years. I joined the law firm of Berkley & Oliver in July, 2018 as "of counsel" to focus on elder law. I think of my problem solving skills and desire to help others as strengths that are particularly helpful when assisting my clients to plan for their futures. And, by virtue of the phase of life in which I find myself, there is a foundation of experience, both professional and personal, that I think enhances what I bring to my clients. |
