Description

Miles Hurley is the founding partner of Hurley Elder Care Law, which was created to provide comprehensive legal solutions for families with long term care issues.

Mr. Hurley is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. He received his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law and did his undergraduate work at Emory University and the University of Tennessee. Mr. Hurley has received the Elder Law Attorney Certification from the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF), making him one of only ten certified elder law attorneys in Georgia – and one of less than 400 nationwide. He formerly served as president of the Georgia Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is the chair of the elder law section of the State Bar of Georgia. He is a founding member and a former vice-president of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association. Mr. Hurley is the former Secretary of the board of directors for the Lewy Body Dementia Association and sits on the troop committee for Boy Scout Troop number 74.

In 1992 shortly after receiving his law degree and beginning his legal career, he became the primary caregiver for his aging grandparents. Interacting with in-home care aides, nursing homes, hospitals and government agencies left him profoundly affected by the experience of managing his grandparents’ day-to-day care and their finances. Mr. Hurley determined that seniors and the disabled needed specialized advice and representation.
