Ms. Jerome graduated with high honors in the top 10% of her class at North Carolina Central School of Law. During that time she also served on both the Law Review and the Moot Court Board. Since graduating she has served as both President and Vice-President Craven County Bar Association. Additionally, she is a former board member on the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council in Craven County.

Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Jerome worked with the United Nations and the International Campaign to Ban Landmines in a joint effort to raise funds for clearing minefields in Mozambique. She also lobbied U.S. Congressional members in an effort to raise awareness of the global landmine crises. Ms. Jerome’s article on this subject was published in the U.N. Vision. Later, Ms. Jerome served in the AmeriCorps as a literacy tutor for troubled youth and Mexican migrant farm workers. She moved to New Bern and married her husband, Steven Jerome, a local fireman, in 2011.
