Monica Kiehl is a Chicago-area native who received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Elmhurst College and her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in 2004. For almost her entire career, Ms. Kiehl has focused on the defense of employers in workers’ compensation claims pending in Illinois. Following her admission to the bar, she began her career at a municipal law firm where, in addition to practicing general municipal law, she defended municipality employers before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. Following her four-year tenure at that firm, she served in the Illinois Attorney General’s office and defended the State of Illinois and its various agencies in claims brought by state employees as well as employers without insurance. Since leaving the Attorney General’s office, she has continued to defend workers’ compensation claims in the state of Illinois in private practice.

Ms. Kiehl joined Arnett Law Group in 2016, bringing her breadth of workers’ compensation experience and knowledge to its practice group. She has tried numerous cases before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, making her litigation experience an invaluable resource to the firm, both practically and strategically. Additionally, due to her prior positions, she has been exposed to a wide variety of different types of injuries and issues that are not always typically encountered in defense of privately-owned entities. This exposure brings even more creative and unique perspectives to the handling of the firm’s cases, a quality in which Arnett Law Group prides itself. Ms. Kiehl continues to vigorously represent the firm’s clients to ensure cost-effective resolution of claims in an expeditious manner and is always available to discuss general workers’ compensation issues or specific Illinois claims.
