Mr. Kim joined the Irvine, CA office of Kring & Chung in March 2016 where he practices in the areas of civil litigation, business transactions, estate planning, tax law and bankruptcy.

Prior to joining Kring & Chung, Mr. Kim worked as an international tax consultant for Grant Thornton LLP and as a solo-practitioner. Most recently, Mr. Kim served as an in-house counsel for the largest retail wireless licensee of MetroPCS® in the Southern California market.

Mr. Kim’s insight in accounting, tax and business operation has been instrumental in providing outstanding legal services to his clients. Mr. Kim routinely provides business and labor advice to officers and shareholders, represents clients on employee and business disputes, and represents debtors in bankruptcy litigation, providing a new start to business owners and individuals. As a 1.5 generation Korean American, Mr. Kim represented numerous Korean American business owners and South Korean businesses conduct their business in Southern California.

Mr. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. His family immigrated to United States when he was 13 years old. After finishing his sophomore year at the University of Houston in 1997, Mr. Kim volunteered to serve as a Parachute Infantryman in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division. After receiving an honorable discharge from the active duty service in 2001 as a rank of Sergeant (E-5), Mr. Kim returned to the University of Houston, earning a degree in Accounting in 2003 and Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska in 2006.

Mr. Kim is currently serving as a Judge Advocate Officer for the California Army National Guard as a citizen Soldier and a Lawyer. Mr. Kim enjoys running and spending time with his wife and son.
