Rachel L. Kovach was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and grew up in the small town of Albany, Louisiana. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, while also playing on the women’s collegiate basketball team.

In 2011, Rachel received her Juris Doctor from Loyola College of Law in New Orleans, graduating summa cum laude and as a Crowe Scholar. While in law school, Rachel was a member of the Loyola Law Review. Her published comment on the prescription of disavowal actions was chosen as the Best Comment in 2010. Rachel was also a member of Loyola’s Moot Court team and participated on the Health Law team as a brief writer and oralist. Rachel received the Law Excellence Award in Legal Research and Writing, Civil Law of Persons, Sales and Leases, and Civil Law of Donations and trusts. She was chosen to work as a research assistant for Professor Monica Wallace during her second and third years of law school. Upon graduation from law school, Rachel was the proud recipient of the 2011 Spirit of Ignatius Award for Outstanding College of Law Graduate. Prior to joining the firm, Rachel served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Blair D. Edwards at the 21st Judicial District Court in Louisiana. Rachel joined TWPD in 2012 and currently is a member of the firm’s mentorship committee, working with local law schools to assist students in gaining practical experience in the legal profession.

Rachel’s practice is focused on General Liability, Construction Law, Insurance Defense and Coverage, and Transportation Law. She is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts, and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
