Description |
Scott Lane is a founding partner of Lane & Lane, LLC. The focus of his practice is representing victims of catastrophic injuries. Prior to his present practice, Scott was a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney for several years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, from Southern Methodist University. While attending SMU, Scott played on the school’s rugby and tennis teams. Scott received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where he served as a member of the Law Review and Trial Team. For his accomplishments on the Trial Team, Scott received the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for Excellence in Advocacy. In addition to his litigation work, Scott spends his time teaching trial technique. He serves as an adjunct Professor at the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, as well as the co-director of the Illinois State Bar Association Trial Technique Institute. He is a founding member of Loyola’s Circle of Advocates, has coached Loyola’s trial team, and is also a mentor with Loyola law school’s mentoring program. He frequently lectures at bar association seminars and has authored numerous articles and chapters pertaining to various aspects of civil litigation. Scott is also a contributing editor to Lane’s Goldstein Trial Technique and Lane Medical Litigation Guide, and co-authored the book, Illinois Motions in Limine. He has been consistently selected as an "Illinois Super Lawyer," as published by Law & Politics and Chicago Magazine. In 2014, he became a member of The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Scott is married and has two children. When he’s not practicing law, Scott spends his free time participating in and watching his two kids play athletics. Scott himself is an avid runner and has participated in numerous marathons throughout North America. Scott is also very involved in fundraising. One charitable organization that is very near to his heart is the Eric William Feinberg Foundation, which was created in memory of his nephew, who was stricken with severe cerebral palsy and passed away at the young age of 21. Scott promotes this foundation through various fundraising activities and marathon donations. The Eric William Feinberg Foundation benefits Keshet, an organization that provides educational, recreational, vocational, and social programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. Each year, Scott and his family hold a fundraiser to benefit Keshet’s eight-week, full-day integrated summer camp. He and his family are also involved in a number of other fundraising efforts, including concerts and basketball clinics. |
