Karen M. Lavin graduated with high honors in 1978 from University of Wisconsin in Whitewater with a degree in Women’s Studies. She went on to Chicago Kent College of Law, graduating with honors in 1982. She began her law career in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, prosecuting serious crimes, including rape, aggravated battery and attempted murder. She shifted into civil practice in 1986. Karen M. Lavin has been selected as one of the Top 100 Family Lawyers in Illinois for 2014 by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA). In her free time, Karen enjoys advocating for environmental causes. She recently won the “Conservation At Home” award and will continue to do her part in protecting planet earth. |
