Thomas R. Lemon is Of Counsel with Mallor Grodner LLP and Chair of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Throughout his long and impressive career, Tom has established himself as an outstanding Indiana trial lawyer and a renowned mediator. He has been a pioneer in mediation in Indiana, training mediators and conducting thousands of mediations throughout the state.

Tom received his J.D. in 1966, with distinction, Order of the Coif, from Indiana University, and was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1966. Following graduation, Tom served as law clerk for Federal District Court Judge S. Hugh Dillin in the Southern District of Indiana. In 1967, Tom moved to Warsaw, Indiana, where he was engaged primarily in a civil trial practice, including jury trials in Indiana, Illinois, California, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Missouri.

In 2003, Tom was honored to be inducted into the IU Bloomington School of Law’s Academy of Law Alumni Fellows, which recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers through personal achievements and dedication to the highest standards of the profession. Induction into the Academy is the highest honor the Bloomington School of Law bestows upon its graduates.

Since 1991, Tom has completed more than 3,500 mediations and arbitrations in virtually every area of civil law, including medical malpractice, contracts, trusts and estates, personal injury, employment disputes (including discrimination actions), construction cases, false imprisonment, slander, commercial litigation, estate disputes, will contests, subrogation claims, insurance disputes and coverage issues, limited domestic issues, asbestos suits, and environmental suits.

Tom has served as Primary Trainer for the Indiana Supreme Court Certified Mediation Program, through ICLEF, over 40 times. He has also served as a Primary Trainer of the Indiana Association of Mediators for Advanced Mediation Training and participated in Mediation Advocacy training programs for the Indiana Attorney General’s office and other organizations, including the EEOC. He has participated in numerous ICLEF workshops as Faculty Chair and speaker and has served on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

Tom is available for mediations in Mallor Grodner’s Indianapolis and Bloomington offices, as well as throughout the state. In addition to Tom, the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group consists of Andrew C. Mallor and Kendra G. Gjerdingen, both Registered Family Law Mediators, and Geoffrey M. Grodner, Registered Civil Mediator.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys hunting and spending time on his farm.
