During his career as an attorney, David Lichtenstein has been dealing legal matter for more than 25 years. His experience includes various forms of civil cases where he represents and advices individuals and businesses in administrative hearings, court appeals, settlement negotiations, real estate legal forms, implementations of employments laws and wide variety of transactional matters. Having gathered much experience from dealing with variety of legal matters helps David to take a multi-disciplinary approach to clients’ cases.

Following his graduation at the University of Colorado School of Law in 1982, David Lichtenstein started his practice different areas of commercial laws, securities end exchange matters, but also and litigation real estate law. Next year David’s practice was mainly focused on litigation in insurance defense and commercial matters and this was his field of practice till 1991. Since then Mr. Lichtenstein started primarily representing injured and disabled individuals in employment disputes.

Mr. Lichtenstein was initially admitted to the bar in Colorado in 1982 and the following year to the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. In 1985 David got his admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and in 2001 came to the U.S. Supreme Court. Today David Lichtenstein is a representative member of two major organizations. The first one is the National Employment Lawyers Association and second is the Colorado Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association. During his service here in several occasions David acted as President and also as a member of the Board of Directors. In addition to this he is member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations. During his career as a lawyer David Lichtenstein been active in many fields including writting articles and holding lectures on seminars. His lectures mainly explore the legal matters of employment rights and employment discrimination law. He is also active in writing professional publications explaining the Colorado Wage Claim Act, holding seminars talking about insurance law. All these efforts resulted in obtaining high AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and having him selected to be a Colorado "Super Lawyer."

In 2008, Lichtenstein took an active role bringingin the Colorado Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association’s successful legislative effort to revise the Colorado Wage Claim Act in order to improve the protections of workers’ most basic right – to be paid for what they do.

Other than his professional activities, David takes an active part in the life of his community. Lichtenstein is an active member of the Littleton Symphony Orchestra. In one occasion he was and former president and board member. In addition, David Lichtenstein was a member of the Collaborative Decisionmaking Committee for Cory Elementary School in the Denver Public Schools, and for many years serves as a mentor for East High School students. David also offers pro bono legal advice to the South City Park Neighborhood Association and serves as its liaison with the 1601 Colorado Apartments, which is an affordable housing complex with units set aside for transitional housing.

David Lichtenstein was born in Cleveland, Ohio where was also raised spent his childhood. He attained his B.A. from Yale University and soon moved to Colorado where he started attending law school. During his stay here David met his wife, Donna Schmalberger, who serves as judge of the Denver Juvenile Court. Today they are happy family and have two sons.
