Marc Lipton earned his bachelor’s degree, graduating with high distinction, from the University of Michigan. He went to Harvard Law School where he received his Juris Doctor, graduating cum laude.

Marc is the longest-serving current member of Lipton Law. Admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1990, he joined his father’s firm the same year to serve as managing partner as well as handle complex litigation. Marc focuses his practice on complex catastrophic and wrongful death cases. He has been lead counsel on numerous cases resulting in multi-million-dollar settlements and verdicts. This focus gives Marc substantial experience in litigating each of the major sub-specialties of personal injury litigation, including automobile negligence, medical malpractice, construction accidents, products liability, premises liability, highway defects and other negligence actions. He has practiced in many states, including California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The respect and reputation that Marc has garnered in the legal realm have not gone unnoticed, as he was one of the youngest awarded an AV rating by his peers and is a recognized “Michigan Super Lawyer.”

Marc is married to former Michigan State Representative Ellen Cogen Lipton. They have two children, both of whom Marc "can still out-ski … but not for long."
