Alison Love joined Faupel Musser Love P.C. in May of 2016. Prior to joining Faupel Musser Love P.C., she was a practicing family law attorney in Peoria and Chicago, Illinois. Alison wrote a brief that was argued at the Illinois Supreme Court, In re Marriage of Mayfield, 2013 IL 114655. Alison’s family moved to the Ann Arbor area in the summer of 2015.

Alison draws on her training as a lawyer, mediator, and parenting coordinator to represent her clients in family law. She has vast experience in the areas of divorce, custody, separate maintenance, property settlement, and estate planning. She works in Washtenaw County primarily but has experience in Lenawee, Livingston, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.

Alison is a trained mediator and participates in Alternative Dispute Resolution seminars. She is a strong litigator when a case calls for court intervention. The experience as a litigator, mediator, and parenting coordinator gives Alison the ability to represent her clients in whichever setting is best suited for the case.

Alison is a member of the Michigan Bar, Washtenaw County Bar, and Illinois Bar. She has been on the board of the Washtenaw County Women’s Lawyer Association since 2015 and is currently their Vice President. Alison also actively handles cases pro bono for the Family Law Project.

Alison came into the legal profession naturally. She grew up watching her father’s family law practice and learned how important it is to help people come to resolutions. In 2009, Alison graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in English and History from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. During her undergraduate studies, she was inducted into the Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha) and was the Captain of the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. In 2012, Alison graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law.

Alison currently lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two young daughters. Alison is involved in the community by volunteering and going into classrooms to teach students about the legal field on Constitution Day.
