Ms. Matecki is an associate at McOmber & McOmber, P.C. and a lifelong resident of Monmouth County. Ms. Matecki’s primary areas of practice are employment law, civil litigation, collections and land use.

As an employment attorney, Ms. Matecki has experience litigating employment matters on behalf of both employees and employers. A member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Ms. Matecki believes that all workplaces should be free of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, and other such violations. To that end, Ms. Matecki has litigated favorably on behalf of plaintiffs in employment discrimination cases.

Ms. Matecki has experience as a collections attorney representing companies and businesses seeking to collect on personal and commercial debts. Many collections clients return to Ms. Matecki for additional business and commercial law guidance. As a business litigator, Ms. Matecki drafts and negotiates contracts and provides general corporate representation to a wide range of industries.

Ms. Matecki also provides clients with guidance in general civil litigation. She advises and represents clients in civil disputes regarding contract matters, property disputes, municipal disputes and tort claims. Ms. Matecki has experience litigating personal injury claims including slip and fall accidents, assaults, and other accidents involving negligence. She pursues personal injury claims by conducting prompt and thorough investigations, invoking the highest caliber of liability and medical expertise, and dedicating focused attention to each matter.

Ms. Matecki earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lafayette College where she majored in Development Studies. Following graduation, Ms. Matecki participated in the Koch Associate Program with the Charles Koch Institute, a twelve (12) month intensive market-based management fellowship, where participants apply for-profit management techniques designed by one of the nation’s largest privately-held companies to the non-profit sector. As a Koch Associate, Ms. Matecki was the administrative coordinator of a multi-channel marketing campaign to educate youth on fiscal policy. Ms. Matecki also worked as a Recruitment and Admissions Assistant at the Fund for American Studies in Washington, D.C., and founded the Washington, D.C. chapter of Liberty on the Rocks, a non-profit organization designed to educate, connect and activate political enthusiasts through local chapters and events throughout the country.

Ms. Matecki earned a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey.

As a law student, Ms. Matecki participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program as an IRS certified volunteer, where she provided private, confidential one-on-one tax return preparation for taxpayers in need. Further, Ms. Matecki was a student advocate for the Southern District of New York Mediation Practicum, where she provided representation for pro bono litigants in employment discrimination matters during the mediation and settlement process. While a student at Seton Hall University School of Law, Ms. Matecki was an advocate for the Investor Advocacy Project where she provided legal representation in arbitration through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to low-income investors. Ms. Matecki provided all aspects of client representation, including interviewing and client-counseling, factual and legal research and discovery, negotiation and motion practice before FINRA. In addition, Ms. Matecki traveled throughout the state presenting to potential investors on sound investment strategies and practices.

Ms. Matecki is also a two-time recipient of the Louis M. Drazin Scholarship and one-time recipient of the Lomurro Davison Eastman & Munoz Scholarship, both administered by the Monmouth Bar Foundation. Ms. Matecki worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Timothy C. Stanceu at the Court of International Trade before joining McOmber & McOmber, P.C. as a law clerk in October 2012.

Ms. Matecki was admitted to the New Jersey Court Bar and became an associate with the firm of McOmber & McOmber, P.C. She lives in Red Bank with her fiancé Timothy Blommestein, an Office Manager at Specto Technology. Ms. Matecki is an enthusiastic skier, and formally skied competitively. Ms. Matecki is also a tennis player and member of the United States Tennis Association.
