A. Ryan McGuigan received his B.A. in History from Boston College in 1993 and his J.D. from Quinnipiac University Law School in 1997, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Federal Criminal Procedure. Mr. McGuigan’ s primary focus is in criminal litigation but he has extensive experience in corporate fraud, white-collar criminal investigations, as well as civil litigation. Attorney McGuigan began his career as a private investigator and conducted investigations into trade secret misappropriation cases across the United States, and most notably a case involving the theft of trade secrets in Mexico City. Attorney McGuigan has used his investigative skills and contacts with law enforcement both nationally and inter-nationally, to conduct investigations into corporate fraud, arson, misappropriation, as well as private personal investigations across the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Argentina, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Spain, France, Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. Most notably, Attorney McGuigan conducted a year long investigation into a patent misappropriation case involving jet engine parts. This investigation was conducted in Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, Switzerland, Poland, and Italy. Attorney McGuigan successfully located prior art previously thought to be non-existent, which aided in a successful resolution of the case.

Mr. McGuigan is a former prosecutor for the State of Connecticut where he worked in the Judicial Districts at Stamford and New Britain. He has extensive trial experience in both Federal and State Courts. Attorney McGuigan has tried numerous cases to verdict, and has acquittals for major Class A felonies in both State and Federal Courts, including the United States Military Court of Justice.

Mr. McGuigan is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association; Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association; National District Attorneys Association; Federal Bar Association; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Hartford County Bar Association; New Britain Bar Association, as well as being a member of the Arthritis Foundation.
