Janet Steel Mishkin served in the New York County Surrogate’s Court as principal law clerk to the Honorable Eve Preminger from 1999 to 2005, and to the Honorable Kristin Booth Glen from 2008 to 2012, where she drafted and edited opinions for the court, conducted conferences with litigants, and consulted with court personnel on the disposition of probate, administration, accounting, guardianship, and miscellaneous proceedings. From 2005 to 2008, Ms. Mishkin was of counsel at Davidson, Dawson & Clark LLP where she practiced primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration.

Ms. Mishkin is a co-author of the 2004, 2005, and 2007 Supplements to Stocker & Rikoon on Drawing Wills and Trusts (12th ed.). She has lectured in programs sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar, and New York Law School to qualify attorneys to become guardians ad litem. She is currently a member of the New York City Bar Trusts, Estates, and Surrogate’s Court Committee, and Council on Judicial Administration.
