Jeff grew up in Albuquerque and attended New Mexico State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. After graduation, Jeff moved to Dallas, TX to pursue a career in the restaurant business. While there, Jeff obtained a Masters of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of North Texas. Jeff returned home to Albuquerque, and began working in management, training and development for a local restaurant chain. In 2010, Jeff left the restaurant business to pursue a second career in law. Jeff graduated with his MBA in Corporate Finance and his Juris Doctorate in May, 2014. Jeff was selected for moot court, received Dean’s List or Honor Roll recognition every semester, and graduated cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Mitchell spent two years clerking for a civil litigation firm, sitting through half a dozen jury trials and writing numerous appellate briefs.

Jeff ‘s law school training has carried forward, as he has obtained favorable decisions in bench and jury trials and written successful appellate briefs for both the Court of Appeals and the New Mexico Supreme Court. Jeff is licensed in both New Mexico and Minnesota, in addition to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jeff is also a member of the H. Vearle Payne American Inns of Court and serves on the Editorial Board for the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association’s newsletter.

Away from law, Jeff has served on the New Mexico Board of Governors for the Salvation Army, and volunteers with the University of New Mexico Greek community and The Ability Experience, a nationally recognized nonprofit with numerous programs educating undergraduates and communities about the abilities of people with disabilities. Jeff was nationally recognized in 2016 as the Pi Kappa Phi Associate Chapter Advisor of the Year. Jeff and his wife are avid sports fans, with a teenaged daughter obsessed with Peyton Manning.
