MY APPROACH

I believe everyone should have access to the legal system. I also understand that intellectual property (IP) law can be among the most confusing and overwhelming areas of law. For many, there is a great deal of uncertainty about where to turn and whom to trust when starting a company or developing an innovation. I was drawn to Richards Patent Law specifically to assist these innovators and entrepreneurs. Our firm develops and implements straightforward plans for IP protection and strategy that focus on what is most valuable to the clients. Richards Patent Law enables me to offer clients a unique experience when dealing with IP matters and supports me in providing clear and concise guidance for navigating the complex IP law landscape.

MY BACKGROUND

Before joining Richards Patent Law, I earned my J.D. from DePaul University while also clerking at the Global IP Law Group, a patent litigation firm where I worked on numerous patent monetization projects. Additionally, during my time at DePaul, I was named a National Semi-Finalist at the National IP LawMeet, awarded both the Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Public Service Award and President’s Award for Service, and inducted into the Honor Society for International Scholars.

Prior to law school, I worked in various database design and administration roles within the Pharmaceutical and Medical industries after earning my B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. During my time in Urbana-Champaign I also worked in a Microbiology lab studying Microdiversity and for Wolfram Research, helping launch and monitor Wolfram|Alpha.

I am admitted to practice in Illinois and a registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and look forward to working with you.
