Mike Moloney has practiced law in Dayton, Ohio, since he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1980. During his 29 years as a lawyer, Mike’s practice has had many areas of focus, including domestic relations, real estate, corporate and business law, litigation, estate and business succession planning, probate law, and financial planning. Mike currently takes his client counseling and problem solving skills and applies them to the following areas:Estate Planning and Probate Law: Mike is an Ohio State Bar Association Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. He founded and heads the Estate and Business Succession Planning Department at Sebaly Shillito + Dyer, which through his leadership, provides creative and innovative estate planning and trust ideas and solutions for the clients of SS+D. Commercial Litigation: Mike often lends a hand to the firm’s commercial litigation disputes. Recently, one of his clients won a $23,000,000 verdict in a case Mike tried with his partner, Jim Dyer. Probate Law, Guardianship and Tax Litigation: Mike has a rare combination of having a sophisticated understanding of the technical estate planning and probate law processes, while also being comfortable in the courtroom. In the past several years, a significant amount of Mike’s practice has been devoted to representing estates, trusts, corporate trustees, and beneficiaries in lawsuits over wills and estates. Mike also handles tax court litigation and IRS audits. Certified Financial Planner: Mike has broadened his estate planning skills to include all aspects of financial planning, and is a Certified Financial Planner. His approach is unique for clients—he provides them with a comprehensive estate planning and financial planning experience from an objective source. Mike is the founder and CEO of SS+D Financial, LLC, an affiliated business of SS+D. SS+D Legal Docs, LLC: Mike’s most recent business innovation has been the creation of Estate Plan Express, a software product sold by SS+D Legal Docs, LLC.
