Susana Oganesian is a practicing attorney at Yoosefian Law Firm, P.C., who devotes her legal career to representing employees whose workplace rights have been violated. Fueled by a passion for workplace law and a competitive drive, she is a diligent advocate for clients. Ms. Oganesian’s practice focuses on the representation of employees in all facets of the litigation process in labor and employment disputes. Ms. Oganesian has drafted and argued motions for summary judgments, taken and defended depositions, and mediated cases toward favorable settlements for clients. She has been involved in labor and employment disputes under both state and federal law, including discrimination, hostile work environment, harassment, and retaliation on the basis of race, sex, age, religion, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation. She has specific experience under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Pregnancy Disability Leave, and other labor and employment laws. Ms. Oganesian has significant practice in representing wrongful termination and wage and hour claims, including claims for overtime pay, meal and rest period violations, and violation of California’s Business and Professions Code. Ms. Oganesian is compassionate and treats every case with empathy and care. Ms. Oganesian graduated from Southwestern Law School’s SCALE two-year program in May of 2016 and gained admission to the State Bar of California in December of 2016. While in law school, Ms. Oganesian excelled in subjects such as legal writing, civil procedure, negotiations, and trial advocacy. Ms. Oganesian clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, in the Sex Crimes and Sexually Violent Predators Divisions, where she gained extensive practice and knowledge in preparing cases for trial while working alongside the prosecution in the Sex Crimes Division. She also grew familiar with California’s civil commitment laws in the Sexually Violent Predators Division, a unique hybrid division that involved both criminal and civil laws and procedures. Ms. Oganesian also clerked for the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she gained extensive practice in civil litigation in the public sector.
