After graduating from the University Of South Dakota College Of Law in 1980, Barbara worked for three years as a trust officer and joined the Klass Law Firm in 1983. She is admitted to state courts in Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska.

Barbara was appointed to serve on the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission from 1993-2002, and the Iowa Supreme Court Probate Rules Committee from 1989-1995. She was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel in 1998. She has served on the Probate Section of the Iowa State Bar Association for many years and was four times appointed to a three year term on the Probate Section Council.

For the past several years, Barbara has been selected by her peers for the honor of The Best Lawyers in America. Barbara and her husband, Stan, have a daughter and a grandson.
