Laurie A. Parker is of counsel with Hartzog & Silva, PLC. She attended Louisiana State University and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. After a career in broadcasting, publishing, corporate communications, and public relations, she enrolled as a member of the Charter Class of Belmont University College of Law. Ms. Parker joined Hartzog & Silva following a clerkship for the four Circuit Judges of the 22nd Judicial District of Tennessee.

Ms. Parker’s practice focuses primarily on family law, juvenile law, personal injury, estate planning and probate.

While attending Belmont Law School, Ms. Parker served as the law clerk for the Hon. Robert L. Jones; clerked for the Nashville estate planning firm Howard, Mobley, Hayes & Gontarek; and interned as a limited practice attorney with the Office of the Public Defender for the 21st Judicial District.

As a law student, Ms. Parker earned the Dean’s Best Performance Awards in Advanced Trial Advocacy and Estate Planning and was regularly named to the Dean’s List of outstanding students. She was a member of the Student Bar Association Executive Board and was chosen by the student body to serve as Belmont Law’s representative to the Tennessee Bar Association.

Ms. Parker is married to John Griffey, who works as a chief information security officer in the public sector. They have two sons, Jack and Sam. They are members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, where Ms. Parker served as a member of the vestry. She is Past President of the Board of Directors of Cooperative Child Care in Nashville. Ms. Parker and her family support a number of local, national, and international groups including the Heritage Foundation of Franklin, the Harpeth River Watershed Association, the Boy Scouts of America, and Episcopal Relief and Development.

Ms. Parker is a member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Williamson County Bar Association, the Maury County Bar Association, and the Lawyers’ Association for Women.
