Third generation Washingtonian. Grew up in Yakima Washington. Heavily involved in Student Body Government, varsity football, swimming, and YoungLife throughout high school and into college. Attended Whitworth University in Spokane, majoring in International Studies and French. Spent Senior year aboard in France. Moved to Seattle in 1992 where Dan met his wife Danielle, a PhD candidate at the University of Washington’s Cognitive Psychology Department. Married in 1997 and moved to Malibu, California for spouse’s first professorship at Pepperdine University. Accepted into Pepperdine University School of Law in 1998. Interned in the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office prior to graduating with JD from Pepperdine in 2002. Immediately took a full time position as a deputy prosecutor with Yakima County where Dan worked for nearly five years conducting over 40 jury trials at the district cout level for serious traffic offenses. Later worked in Juvenile Felony Office and was the sole Civil Mental Commitment prosecutor for Involuntary Detainments. Dan is an avid fly fisherman, skier, and water sportsman. He has three young children.
