Atty. Jeff Powers has been practicing law for over 18 years in Macon, GA. Jeff holds a B.S. degree in Psychology from Florida State University(1989) and a J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University (1995). Upon graduation from Mercer Law, Jeff began work as an Assistant District Attorney in the Macon Judicial Circuit, where he worked from 1995 until 1998.

In 1998, Jeff and his wife, Katie, moved to his hometown, Orlando, FL in order to work with his father, who has a successful law practice. Jeff gained much experience from this and decided that rather than relying on his father’s connections to build a practice, that he would return to Macon and build his own successful practice, independently, which he has certainly done!

Jeff worked for Murphy and Sibley, a local insurance-defense law firm from 1999 until 2000. He was able to learn a great deal about how insurance companies work to vigorously deny claims and felt very strongly that he would rather represent people than large companies, only interested in their own bottom line.

Jeff then moved to the Macon law firm, Buzzell, Graham and Welsh to work as an attorney representing injured persons. He did so well that within five years, he was able to leave the firm and start his own, independent law practice. Jeff’s success is due to his passion for representing people who have been hurt and need someone to vigorously advocate for them against insurance companies.

Jeff has been married to his wife, Katie, a graduate of Central High School in Macon, GA, and the University of Georgia, for 16 years. They have two school-aged daughters, and one very-spoiled Basset Hound! They are very civically active in the Middle Georgia area and both feel strongly about their responsibility to give back to this community, which has done so much for them.
