Mr. Pyle specializes in plaintiffs’ insurance coverage issues and bad faith law. Mr. Pyle is an expert on key issues such as the duty to defend, concurrent causation, application misrepresentation, entitlement to Cumis counsel, duties among multiple insurers on the risk, bad faith, and the avoidance of countless exclusions, conditions, and limitations on coverage. Mr. Pyle has been instrumental in the recovery of millions of dollars on behalf of both large commercial clients and smaller entities and individuals, recently recovering $5 million dollars under a policy with limits of $300,000 by using the insurer’s misconduct against it.

A former nuclear-trained submarine officer in the United States Navy, Mr. Pyle graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2002, was an Order of the Coif recipient, was awarded the Owen Stark Herriot Award for Outstanding Student Veteran, and received Academic Achievement Scholarships in 2000-01 and 2001-02. Mr. Pyle also earned his MBA from the University of San Diego in 1999, receiving an award for the Highest Cumulative GPA, graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Mr. Pyle earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from Michigan State University.
