William A. Rasmussen is a native of Hancock County, as he grew up in LaHarpe. He was a 1993 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He then attended the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. While there, Bill participated in many extracurricular activities including playing golf on the varsity golf team.

In the Spring of 1996, Bill attended Harlaxton College in Grantham, England. During that semester, Bill traveled to many different countries. He was able to fulfill a lifetime dream by playing 36 holes at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland.

In the summer of 1996, Bill was an intern for Senator Paul Simon in Washington, D.C. Bill worked on Senator Simon’s Labor and Human Resources Committee staff, and worked on such projects as raising the minimum wage, the Team Act, and ERISA.

Bill was a 1997 Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. He also minored in Political Science.

In the Fall of 1997, Bill enrolled at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He graduated in May of 2000. Bill passed the Illinois Bar Examination in July of 2000, and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November of 2000. Bill also passed the Missouri Bar Examination in February, 2001, and was admitted to the Missouri Bar in April, 2001. He was also admitted to the Federal Bar in November of 2000.

Bill has been an Associate at Capps, Ancelet & Clark since August of 2000, and since his hiring has worked on all types of files, including dissolution of marriage, custody, criminal defense, and medical malpractice. Bill also handles many other miscellaneous matters that invariably arise in a General Practice setting.

Bill is single and lives in Carthage. He is an avid golfer, and is a member of the Carthage Kiwanis Club. He also enjoys all sports, traveling, and keeping in touch with all of his friends.
